We spent one family evening at a local historic farm Horn Creek Farm for their Christmas celebration. They read the Christmas story from the bible, talked about how Christmas was celebrated in days of old, sang Christmas songs together on a pump organ, read stories about Christmas from a child's point of view, and cooked a Chicken stew traditional country dinner complete with an orange and molasses cookie. Beforehand we walked around all the animals kept on the farm (and Ella enjoyed making all her animal noises) and pet them all as well. It was a really nice evening out (even if Ella was a little restless at story time).
