Reunited -- and it feels so good

We have finally transferred the horses and cows to West Virginia. 

But in Hunk-o-Farmer's words  . . . .

"Yesterday was full of lemons, so I made lots of lemonade. It was the big move for the animals from the old farm. Everything that could go wrong did, such as being stuck with the loaded trailer in the mud to the truck stalling out at the toll booth on the interstate and the battery being dead and unable to restart. Despite all challenges everyone has arrived alive and safe."

Here is what happened
   1. Loaded Nellie Bell (Mommy cow) into the trailer easily.
   2. Trailer stuck in the mud from all the recent rain.
   3. Neighbor pulled trailer out of mud.
   4. Everyone loaded except the gelding, who decided to be stubborn and flip out           while trying to load him and in the process hit the latch to the trailer gait and let out the cow who went running through the neighbor's front yard.
   5. Reloaded horses, reloaded cow, and apologized to neighbor for torn up grass.
   6. Loaded dog into cab of truck.
   7. Truck pulling trailer died (with all animals in tow) - luckily going down hill so momentum was used to pop the clutch and re-start.
   8. On the road again.  Did I mention it was a very hot day (the tongue of the dog in the truck's cab was  practically on the floor).
   9. Tight fit through 2 under mountain tunnels.
   10. LOTS of traffic on the highway.
   11. Truck battery DIES at a toll booth on the highway. (Which led to the toll both folks towing the truck just far and fast enough to pop the clutch and re-start again - after which a big group of them shouted, "Wooo-hoo".)
   12. Rain storm arrives at home at just the same time as the animals which made for messy unloading.   (Stay tuned for the story of Kelo not wanting to cross the creek . . . .)


BUT . . . . on the bright side, they already LOVE their new home. See for yourself. 

(and in case you were wondering we bought a new battery for the truck also).

Mare (girl) Horse - Ruby
Gelding (boy) Horse - Kelo (as is colossally big, but spelled Kelossal (already named and registered when we bought him) - NOT as in the kilo in the trunk . . . .)

The first of many livestock to be brought onto our farm.
