Visiting Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa

In case you didn't know - my grandfather has been battling end-stage colon cancer for many months now. Thus, they have not been able to travel much and we haven't been able to spend alot of time with them. We got the news in mid-late July that the cancer was spreading and the doctors had decided to stop chemotherapy completely and we decided we had to visit ASAP. Ella had a grand time - despite all the dangerous furniture and trinkets Grandma keeps around.

She loved watching the ice cream truck go by with Great-grandma!

Great-grandma and Ella danced together all the time as well.

Great-grandpa made her a little more nervous, but she still gave out bedtime kisses and we spent several evenings singing songs with him. Getting a good picture of all of us together was quite a task though!

We spent the last evening talking with Grandma and Grandpa about when they first got married and many of the memories they had together. Then we prayed together as a family.
David, Ella, and I got home late on Monday night . . . . Early Tuesday morning Grandpa fell trying to go to the bathroom on his own during the night, began to cough up blood and have trouble breathing, and he passed away a few hours later. We are still very sad, but he was in alot of pain during our visit and we are thankful for his life of faith and that he is now in peace.
